Hi Deborah, Thanks for the response! Sorry if I was vague but what I meant to
imply is that Mom was reluctant to use the pacifier due to baby spits it out.
 I think that using it while the babe is in sling MIGHT provide her with
easier access to replacing it which MIGHT help her to feel less burdened by a
baby who is "only happy when nursing" by gently encouraging the baby to span
the feedings some.
Great ideas for support group involvement! Mom seemed not at all ready for
them as she is pretty immobilized.
I very rarely SUGGEST pacifier use although after being a pedi/nicu nurse for
years, I am glad to have had them to comfort those terrified, and overwrought
babies that I have had to inflict some painful procedure on...or hold off
till Mom comes in....or use to calm 20 babies in nursery for night when I'm
the only nurse on....etc..
