Skin tags are just little extra skin tissue that can grow while in utero on
the body. I have primarily seen them on the hands/feet then they are
called an extra digit and also the ears. On the ears they range from a
very small pimple size, but when touched it is not fluid filled, but just a
small piece of movable skin. While the larger ones look almost like the
child has an "ear ring" in their ear. They are harmless and if removed are
for cosmetic purposes. Like an extra digit once you cut off the blood
supply to the little tag, it dries up and falls off.
