Hi all, I am a LLL Leader and studying for the IBCLC exam next year.

In my classes, I'm learning that lactase in most humans has a natural point of diminishing, or not persisting, at around age 5. Of course, now I'm wondering if that provides us with more data surrounding Kathy Dettwyler's concept of "a natural age for weaning."

However, I can't find any data actually substantiating the age of typical lactase non-persistence. I would really love to find some data on that, does anyone have any ideas or research that would serve as a lead for me?

Thank you,

Jen Chendea
