There's no plausible physiological mechanism that I'm aware of for
the pre-operative vacuum pumping device to increase glandular tissue
or supply, and I'm deeply suspicious of the supposed results
published here:

The poster presentation describes the results of a surgical procedure. What
I am interested in discussing is the implications of the non-surgical
vaccuum technology. As I have said, I have no financial interest in this
product, but have a client who used the product for cosmetic reasons post
involution and was very pleased with the enhanced size and lift. results
appear to be enduring, two and a half years out.
I contacted the company and inquired as to implications for lactation. At
the time I had a teen mother in my practice who very much wanted to
breastfeed, who had severe bilateral hypoplasia, and who was devastated when
she was unable to produce much at all. She was uninterested in exploring
ways to increase supply. It was like a door closed. She didn't even try
with her second baby two years later.
The physician I spoke with at Brava stated tissue growth would theoretically
include functional milk making tissue, if any existed to begin with, but
that there were no studies on milk output before and after use of product.
he suggested I run one. Not real feasible for me at this time, but maybe a
case study someday.
In any case, and this comment may be a bit off topic, but women do suffer
emotionally over the appearance of their breasts, that young mother in mind
again, and subsequent dysfunction was a huge blow to her already fragile
body image. I think a product that holds potential for helping women with
hypoplasia should be looked at on the merits, with a healthy, friendly
skepticism, and if it works to enhance lactation as well as body image,
offered as an option. This bears looking into.
