I checked-out the website for this blanket www.miracleblanket.com. What a
horrible product! It is a straight-jacket for babies. It does not allow
any hand-to-mouth soothing. Although I am sure it is effective in quieting
babies (just as a straight-jacket works for distraught adults), it is not
something I would recommend.

It says on the website that babies may fuss at first when wrapped in the
blanket, but they eventually settle down. They have to give up and stop
struggling because they have no choice. It says that it may be too big at
first, but that allows for room for the baby to grow - so it is intended for
use beyond the newborn days. I think it may give the parents some quiet,
but I am very concerned about the developmental issues of such confinement.

Some newborns do well with swaddling at first. However this blanket looks
to me like a terrible restraint device.
