Dark skinned, shmark skinned.  They still get vitamin D from
ultraviolet.  Of course, before vitamin D was discovered (1925) all
the babies in the world got rickets.  Actually if you look at the old
texts, rickets was associated with *not* breastfeeding.

In the Transkei, (South Africa) where I worked for 18 months, we saw
lots of rickets. But only in artificially fed babies.
