I have learned many new things about babies and breastfeeding by working
with a speech pathologist.(And, I thought I knew it all having been involved
with babies and breastfeeding for over 30 years!)   She did a talk for our
lactation group and two of our LC's have been to observe her.  We refer
clients to her frequently when they come in for a lactation visit and we
find that the baby has a sucking problem.  Her name is Diane Champman BAhr.
She has written a book called Oral Motor Assessment and Treatment - Ages and
Stages. She also has a web page www.oral-motor.com which gives more info
