Dear Kika, I've been a member of the International Lactation Consultant 
Association since it began 25 years ago.  I'm not sure when we formed a 
local chapter to present educational opportunities, but it's been a long 
time :-)  We've put on large conferences and small, enjoyed by all, with 
speakers local or national.  We exchange info and support one another on a 
local level.  By all means join ILCA and become a local chapter!  Pat in
