This is such a great area to explore, write up and present, and I'm sure the
attendees will both benefit and add to your list. I would say that one other
major difference comes from the baby's ability ( or not) to move to and from
one nipple that needs to be shaped by the baby's work, and the artificial one
that has its own form already. As you said, sometimes it's about textural
"ickiness" or unfamiliarity, and sometimes it might also be about the baby's skill
in shaping, grooving to shape, on his/her own. I'm sure others on the list have
many to add. As we know, but many moms and other health professionals don't,
the differences are extensive and sometimes have a tremendous impact on
learning or moving back and forth between feeding relationships, and tools and
breastfeeding itself.
