Dear Lactnetters
Let me introduce myself. Rachel Walker, RGON and IBCLC since 1986,
pioneering the lactation consultant scene here in New Zealand and enjoy
coordinating the IBLCE work and pleased to see we now have 149 IBCLCs here
in New Zealand. I have worked in independent practice in the community.
Have been "lurking" out here off and on and thoroughly enjoyed the
discussions I have read and wish I had the time to read and learn more and
more.
I have two aspects I would appreciate feedback on, and as our computer
requires attention at present - I am on nomail and would ask you to send
any information to my personal email address

which I can access elsewhere.
I have received a request for information and have searched the Lacnet
files on these two subjects:
The first is SCUBA DIVING and breastfeeding - and ask if the person who was
requesting information could share and email the final findings she
received.
The second is POST MENOPAUSAL INDUCTION OF LACTATION. A 44 year old woman
who has adopted 5 years ago is to adopt again in eight weeks time. She
had uterus and ovaries removed 13 years ago and is on PREMARIN. She is
keen to breastfeed this time. I have assisted a number of women
breastfeed their adopted babies, but would like to know from anyone who has
assisted in a situation such as this one - thinking at this stage that it
would be wise for her to stop the premarin.
I look forward to your input.
I was envious of those who enjoyed the conference in Australia, however I
will attend the NZLCA annual conference 6-8 March here in Auckland.
Thank you in advance for your sharing,
Rachel Walker,
