Beverly--Heartburn is a good way to describe GER.  Many times it is
associated with apnea, bradycardia,and desats in the premature infant.  I
have seen Reglan and erythromycin prescribed with questionable benefit.  Use
of anti-GER positioning post-feed  is more  conservative therapy but usually
used in conjunction with meds.  pH probe studies can be done to help with
diagnosis.  Pretty invasion though.  Hope this helps.--Diane
