i don't know how many of you out there (in the usa) have clients that use
domperidone, but i do. it works so very well, especially compared to reglan,
that i decided to try to do some investigation about why it is not available
to be prescribed here. we have had posts about this topic before, and no one
seemed to know what the story is. i called janssen pharmaceuticals, and they
said it is up for FDA approval. it is being studied now, and the FDA is
waiting for results, although they do have the records of use in other
countries. it is also the longest running study and approval process ever
(will we live long enough? we ask).

there is nothing we can do right now, but the person i spoke with said that
the last time it came up for approval, they mounted a letter-writing
campaign, which did not seem to help. i asked her to call me if they want to
do that again (when it comes up for approval again). i figure that the
combined powers of the lactation community, when it comes to writing
convincing letters, might be of some help.
