The mom could add some butter to baby's cereal for added fats, I did that
with one of my babies for a little while.  The hindmilk idea isn't
bad....not sure exactly how the mom would get it to the baby.  She could
pump, cool that milk, and skim off the hind milk and feed that to baby in
the cereal or with an alternative method.  Many babies just reach a plateau!
she should ask around in her family, did anyone else have a similar growth
pattern?  My mom says I didn't double my birth weight until one year
old....which is commonly seen at 6 mos. and then tripling of birth weight by
one year.
