Hi, forgive my ignorance, in the case of the women who had gall bladder surgery, what meds/reason was given for them to have to stop breastfeeding for 48hrs?

I had 2 surgeries to remove kidney stones, and continued to breastfeed throughout. It is my understanding that there are very few meds that require a woman to not breastfeed.

In both of my situations I did not ever notice a reduction in my milk supply, I had baby with me in hospital and nursed on demand. One time I was NPO for 24hrs and still didn't notice a supply drop.

Angela
