Joy, Is there a family history of breast cancer as well? Families that have
high rates of ovarian and breast cancer may be carrying a gene for breast
cancer. If so, this woman may be able to be tested for the gene. If she
doesn't carry the gene, OK. If she does then she may well want to consider
having surgery (breastfeeding is not going to give her much protection in
that case).
