Hi All,
Well, today I got to meet Kathy Dettwyler and Christine Palmer, here in
Sacramento! Kathy and I had lunch together, with a few of my WIC colleagues.
Very nice, and fun! Then we went to our local Kaiser hosp for a short
seminar with Kathy being the speaker. Boy, is she good! If any of you out
there who haven't heard Kathy speak ever get a chance, I highly recommend
going! Yes, I took a few pics, and will send them out to be on a Lactnet
Board at ILCA next year! It is so much fun to be able to put a face with a
name!

Now for the funny!

Most of you know that I do pump rentals. Most of you also know that I have a
very active 23 mo old, named Ben. Well, Ben likes to play with my demo parts
for the pumps. Yesterday, after seeing a client, Ben was standing on a
kitchen chair talking to my friend Jenny, who happened to be over. He picked
up the Breastshield, put the valve head on it, then the bottle (he knows how
to put it all together, correctly, I might add!), then the tubing. Next he
put the breastshield on his chest, right where his nipple is, and started
making shooshing sounds, you know, like a pump makes! Then he made some
comment about momma milk in the bottle! We just about died laughing! Ben
has never seen me pump, and has only seen 2 clients pump while here. He has,
however, seen me demonstrate to moms many times how to correctly pump! Heck,
maybe when he grows up he can become a Lactation Consultant! Sounds good to
me!

Take care!
Jay
