Regarding the not so little 2 month old weighing over 18 lbs - I noted that
this child comes from a big family and we all know that genetics plays a
role in growth potential. I do not agree with the advice to limit the child's
feeds in any way. The child should have a complete medical work-up to
rule out any underlying medical condition associated with excessive
weight gain. As the child gets older (2nd year of life) the parents may
need to pay attention to his food intake (no juice, structured meals and
snacks, etc.).

It would be interesting to know exactly how much milk this baby's getting,
and what percent fat mom's milk is. But that is the good thing about
breastfeeding, isn't it? The baby drinks whenever he's hungry and stops
when he's full. Or at least that's how it's supposed to work!
