Hi all,
Went nomail for a while while adult children whose lives were in upheavel
were turning to us for help and support (not to mention two teenagers home
for the summer and taking care of daily my year old grandson). Now back but
due to yesterday's events, may be going no mail again sooner than I'd like
(husband, son, son-in-law, 3 nephews on active military duty, daughter and
ex-husband in recall status).
Anyway, in the Sept '01 issue of Better Nutrition there is an ad for New
Life Colostrum that is definately worth more than a passing look. On first
look, I thought - they are selling human colostrum. Copied the ad and reread
it three times - there is no mention of where the colostrum comes from. In
fact, removing the company info - this would be a great ad to show expectant
moms, on why breastfeeding is important in the first days.
On going to the company internet site (Symbiotics) it does state there that
it is bovine colostrum. To me the ad is misleading, misrepresentation at
worst, but does point out what we encounter with advertising for artificial
baby milks - subtle almost invisible deception.
Oh well, another situation to divert attention and money away from
breastfeeding.
