To the list,
I got this today from a professor at the nursing school where i study. Its
amazing, she used to be the Dean and now she's teaching me so much and
sends me stuff like this because she knows of my plans to be a midwife.
I've sent her info about Lactnet hopes that she could learn a lot
        namaste...amy in Maine :-)

My name is Sys Elk=E6r at: [log in to unmask] I am a nurse, 47,
living and working on the island of Bornholm, Denmark. My main
interests in the nursing field are children and birthing. I am
presently studying Nursing Science at Denmark's Graduate School of
Nursing (sygeplejevidenskab p=E5 Danmarks Sygeplejerskehojskole), and
communication at Roskilde University in Denmark as part of a
distance learning program conducted on the Internet. I want to
contribute to the developement towards a delivery-tradition in
which the woman is the natural authority. I am interested in doing
a project in the future about birthing around the world. I would
very much like to establish contact with nurses, midwifes,
anthropologists and others who have knowledge of birthing in
"non-civilized" societies. Please write to me directly at:

      Thanks Sys
