I have a friend who is breastfeeding her 3rd child, aged 6 mo
He has recently started on solids and eats one meal a day, about 1/2 cup of
vegetable puree. He eats solids after bf.
He sleeps fairly consistently thru the night, sometimes waking once, and has
done this for a while.
The problem is, mum has a very bountiful milk supply and is leaking
copiously at night, finding it uncomfortable to sleep and has tender
breasts. She is a little prone to blocked ducts and is understandingly
reluctant to wake a happily sleeping child for night nursings at this age,
although she will happily nurse him if he wakes.
His growth is good and there is no reason to wake him.
She has always had a great supply but now it has become a real nuisance,
although mostly just at night.
she has fed the other children for about 1 yr and plans to do the same this
time.

I have suggested wearing a light crop-top to hold pads in place and trying
the homeopathic remedy phytolacca to calm things down a bit.
Any ideas?
