heather,
my experience with several like this has been that the tissue will involute.
I don't think she needs a breast surgeon or specialist unless she is having
s/s of mastitits.
Have her peer supporter be sure the main breasts are not engorged, handle
that as per the usual measures if needed. becoz the tail of spence can "back
up" if the front of the breast is not draining. if there truly is no
connection to this axillary tissue, then to speed involution, i would have
mom remove her bra if she wears one, over the next day or two. i would use
cold and/or cabbage if that is the traditional therapy. i would advise mom
not to manipulate the area other than that. report s/s of mastitis
immediately.
