The babies who really had something wrong anatomically or metabolically had
other signs.  It usually has taken just a few questions to find out that VERY
slow weight gain and childhood "leanness" runs strongly through some
families.  There are lots of normal adults who are extremely slender and who
gain weight only with extreme difficulty.  They start out as babies with the
same tendencies as far as I can guess.

These babies and families need tight follow-up, continual reevaluation of
developmental milestones and lots of support.
