Judy, thanks so much for sharing that story! Having lived in Germany, and studied a lot of WWII history, I have at least an inkling of what the German people faced after the war. I am sure that the milk you and your mother shared with this other baby was not just nice but, quite likely, life-saving.

We had a mom here whom I sold a Lact-E to, when she had her first baby, about 12 years ago. She went back to work and had no trouble providing plenty of milk for her first and second babies, along with some to help supplement my milk supply for two of my adopted babies. Her milk was not only plentiful, but very rich. When this mom had her third baby, she was roommates with another mom, who died suddenly, leaving her husband with a newborn. My friend decided to donate enough milk to totally feed this other baby. Whenever she nursed her daughter, she would hold the pump on the opposite side, and had no problem providing plenty of milk for both babies. A blessing for everyone involved!

Darillyn
