>>3. Any suggestions on how to support this mother's lactation once she
delivers? What should I anticipate?<<

Julie, I'm not really in a position to comment on the pregnancy question,
but will be interested in other's comments. Chris Hafner-Eaton may have some
info on this.

Regarding lactation, it might be helpful to see what happens initially. I've
been wondering if/how often hyperprolactinemia might induce chronic
oversupply. Vitex is considered a "hormone balancer," and as I have also of
late been reading on hyperprolactinemia and vitex, have also read that it is
considered to be a prolactin agonist. If mom has too much milk, it might be
a good choice to help bring things back into the ball park. Alternatively,
sage seems to help this also. If her supply is normal, I'd do nothing, and
if low, probably stay away from vitex.

Try a web search on vitex/chasteberry; there is some interesting stuff out
there, sometimes contradictory.
