Hi, all -- I have a patient who will probably want to hire a private LC in Sebastopol sometime in the next week. Infant has gotten very frustrated with breast, started out tongue thrusting alot, now knows how to nurse, but frustrated with meager supply from breast -- how meager we don't exactly know -- 10% wt. loss in three days -- now supplementing if infant really aggressively hunting for more after breastfeeding. Sometimes have to give some supplement first to get him to calm down enough to go to breast. Mom will be leaving hospital 9/28 (day 4) if no continued weight loss. She has started to pump p feeds, so far with no production -- not surprising as the kid is a barracuda.

Will be buying a pump before she leaves for home, we now have a sweet deal on pump purchases for our patients -- may want someone to teach her how to use SNS until she has sufficient supply herself.

Mom had breast augmentation, but supposedly not going anywhere milk ducts or lactiferous tissue, had a C/S for failed induction and maternal temp, infant 4430 at birth (mom a gestational diabetic), 950 cc. EBL. We have talked about galactogogic herbs and foods, breast stimulation to stimulate supply, and the fact that sometimes the milk doesn't come in abundantly, right away.

Anyone out there, near Sebastopol, to take this on?
