Hi all,

I just had a thought about the "inhibited letdown" theory: If mom originally
"bonded" to the pump, it may be that she's not getting the right "cues" to
letdown for the baby. Has she tried turning on the pump as she begins bf, so
the sound of the pump provides her with an auditory cue that "it's time to
make milk!"? Also, she might try pumping to letdown, then putting baby to
breast (again, while the pump is still making noise).

With my second son in special care for 2 weeks, I found I cued so strongly to
"my" pump at home, that even when I used the same classic-type pump at work,
my letdown was delayed. I finally figured out it sounded just a bit different
from the one at home. Funny things, our bodies!

Let me know if it works!
