A 42 year old, 6 months pg with her first, had considerable difficulty
conceiving. She wants a second baby, so is looking for ways to 1)provide
breastmilk for a year *and* 2) get pregnant again soon. She'd like to
nurse for up to 6 months, store enough breastmilk to last to a year or find
donor sources, and wean by 6 months to maximize her chances for another
pregnancy.

I addressed what she wanted - yes, it's *physiologically* possible to store
enough milk in 6 months to last a year, yes, there are milk banks, yes, wet
nursing and local donations have been done before. I'll send her info on
the relationship of bfing and ovulation. And I planted (gently) the seed
that racing against the clock with the goal being not a quality time with
this real baby but maximizing the possibility of another baby, is something
of a balancing act. Remember, she's still very theoretical - still coming
to grips with the fact that there really will be a baby at all. What
additional info/thoughts would you provide her with at this stage? I told
her I'd pass your thoughts on in the packet (including general bfing info)
I'll be sending her.
