Dear Mary, I agree, she probably "should" have contacted a lawyer prior to
her "civil disobedience" of showing up with kids.  I've learned from
listening to Liz Baldwin and reading her info that the  path to take
legally with the older child is the maternal "care" , not the BF and
culturally max time away from older child can be the length of a typical
working day.  The only clinker is the possibility of sequestration.  Also
for this particular mom the cost ($ and emotional to child who  has never
been separated) of day care is significant and needs to  be considered.
