We work at a smaller hospital less than 2500 births per month. We get RN hourly rate just as the floor nurses. Between the two of us we alternate working on Saturdays. We don't work holidays or Sundays. Jackie Adames, RN, BSN, IBCLC Boca Raton, Fl.

We are a hospital-based Lactation Department. And we have a question for
all you Lactnetters.
For those of you in hospitals, do you make the same, less or more pay
per hour than the floor nurses? (We are not asking for amount, just
comparison). And if you would be so kind as to let us know, what then is
your annual birth rate? In other words are you a hospital comparable to
ours? We deliver 7,000 a year. We are negotiating pay amounts with our
hospital and need this information before our next meeting.
Thank you so much ahead of time,
Cheryl Muller RNC IBCLC
