Hi everyone,

I thought this might be of some help-
My last baby was a shoulder dystocia with associated hypoxia, she had
Apgar scores of 0/9 and was in NICU for 24 hrs with oxygen and on
fluids only via I.V. After this time she had no idea whatsoever on how to
suckle.
I found the dancer hold and initially(with help) the use of a dropper with ebm
the only way to get her going.A chiro had checked her out and given her the all
clear.
I had to use this method for over a week, weight gains were minimal but as my
supply increased the baby learned very quickly. After three weeks things were
pretty good.I have this to work in other councelling situations but breastpumps
were required to initiate any milk supply.

See you later on a beautiful winters day,
