Was anybody else as upset as I was to hear Dr. Nancy Snyderman tell the whole
country that newborns should be having 8 to 12 wet diapers a day in order to
assume it was getting enough to eat. This information could send new moms
just coming home from the hospital into a panic and running for ABM because
they are not going to see that many wet diapers. The information she confused
was probably that they should be fed that often, not wet that often. I wrote
an e-mail to ABC and told them they should correct the error and if they want
anybody to discuss breastfeeding on the air, it should be a lactation
consultant. I would like to see others write in too, maybe they will do
something on breastfeeding if enough people write in to complain about the
misinformation.
