I received a call from a breastfeeding mom of 5 mos. old twins. I've
known her from the start since she had macerated nipples, mastitis, and
a recurrent yeast infection. She is now concerned about a "grossly"
distended vein that begins under her arm and continues to the nipple. It
doesn't hurt but she is unhappy with its appearance. Could it be a
varicose vein? Is this of concern? Will it go away after discontinuing
breastfeeding? Thanks, again. Dawn Staudt-Vanek
