>I was tellin my son about this and the milky way. He response was

"But Mom. Hercules's mother was not Hera. She was a human(he had
forgotten her name). So Hera is a Step mother."

My Thought was we have a real good case here for Adoptive
nursing!!<

Well, not exactly. Hera thereafter spent a lot of time trying to kill
Hercules, because he was one of Zeus's bastards by a mortal woman, whom she
had been tricked into feeding so as to make him immortal. In one version
the spray was said to occur when she pushed him off the breast, but he'd
swallowed enough to become immortal. Goddesses' milk provides complete
protection, not just against CMV or HIV but also murderous stepmothers!!

The word GALAXY derives from the same root as lactation and galactogogue,
galactos, Greek for milk. Hence ALCA is renaming ALCA News as ALCA Galaxy,
as we ambitiously hope to interest not just those on this planet in the
experience of Australian IBCLCs!!

I am indebted to my Classics/History/Ancient Greek graduate son Philip for
this piece of trivia.. pays to educate them.
