I have worked in a small, midwife-only birth unit, where formula feeding
mothers had to bring in their own, plus own equipment etc. We showed them
how to clean bottles, and would provide a container for chemical sterilising
if needed, or let them use the microwave for steam sterilising, but
otherwise it was all up to them - night feeds included.
Of course, it helps that all staff are midwives, with a keen interest in bf,
and that the woman/staff ratio was excellant. Also all women had babies with
them at all times (no nursery) and all the mums are well - no C/s clients.

Formula seems cheaper here than in other countries, and with a strong dairy
industry I always wonder when someone will say that formula feeding is good
for the economy :(

Don't worry, I have lots of replies at the ready!!
