It has been a long time since I posted, usually lurk but had to respond to Jaye's post. You go girl!!. I can tell you on a daily basis I feel like I am in a uphill battle to help the moms I work with. They get 'booby trapped" in every way they turn. When they get to me they are told their baby has lost too much weight, the baby eats too often, you must not have enough milk. You bet I use a scale. It is the one way I have found to try, and I mean try, to boost their confidence. I have been doing this for over 25 years so it is not as if I am not confident in my skills as an IBCLC. I am here for the moms to reach thier breastfeeding goals, and if that mean using a scale to show her a number so be it.
Thanks for all the wonderful posts. I learn so much from all of you.
