No I have not heard anything new about lanolin nor FDA/JCAHO "dis"-approval.
I think the way you are using it (sparingly and not handing it out to every
mother, and also, of course, assessing the bf) is prudent. I do think it
*could* interfere w/ the secretions of the glands, the normal scent of the
mother, etc. I have seen lanolin quite overused, in my opinion, either as
above (given out to every nursing mom) or continued to be used for weeks and
weeks without resolution, nor proper diagnosis, of the pain.
