​I believe you are correct. WHen the anesthetic effect is no longer felt,
it is pretty much gone, and it's safe to nurse.  In any case, people with
general anesthesia can breastfeed when they are awake and alert enough to
hold their babies...this is my understanding. Check Thomas Hale's book.​
