Hello lactnetters:
I am a lactation educator practicing in Palo Alto, CA, and new to lactnet. My question: A doula friend working with a woman who plans to relinquish her newborn for adoption, asked me for some tips to help mother deal with milk coming in. New mom delivered baby on Saturday morning and plans to nurse the baby for the first couple of days while in the hospital--I believe she is being discharged this morning. Doula has heard about sage tea being useful for inhibiting milk supply. This is new to me. Please enlighten me on this, and share any other tips or recommendations for managing the milk coming in. Also, what is the current thinking on binding the breasts? Thanks!
