I would like to know what the powers that be say about this too.... does anyone have specific reference? I was always told that we as IBCLC's shouldn't attend conferences that are in any way sponsored by a formula company.

I'm really curious with this too.

Does attending/speaking for an event sponsored (food and gifts) by a formula milk company in partnership with a private hospital in violation of the IBCLC Ethics?

I am not (yet!) and IBCLC, but I am the first in my country to have specific education in Lactation (non gov sponsored), and because of this, I had received an invitation to participate in an event which is sponsored (food and door gifts) by a formula milk company (events like these are very common here)

I'm having second thoughts about participating and I really do not want this to haunt me in the future when I am an IBCLC

Appreciate the wise counsel in this.

Warmest,
Maureen Fletcher, CLEC
