Humans are basically the same with variations from individual to
individual. Breastfeeding seems to be very resiliant in many cases, not
so in others. How else could adopted mothers BF, some fully, some
partially, some token. I think there are factors that we don't even know
about or clusters of factors that turn the switch on or off, we can only
try to relactate and then be happy with whatever we get in terms of milk.
I'd hestitate to say that one person is more motivated than another. I
think it is basically physiologic at some level we don't know about yet.
Of course it is "best" to get an early start with no wrinkles and prevent
problems in the first place! Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
