when they hear absolutely tons of misinformation and outright lies

I've gotten a little hardened about this over the years. If it's wrong I
say so! I say it nicely, but wrong is wrong. Would you let a HCP go in
and tell a mom that the cervix is at the top of the uterus and of course
baby comes out thru your belly button? I think not. I couch it with "so
much new info, wasn't trained, maybe doesn't have time to keep up, not as
important to him/her as you and baby and me," etc. If they are wrong, they
are wrong and if we let this keep going on and on it goes on and on. Maybe
people don't like it when I call them on something, but I've usually got
the back up research and they sure don't! If they don't like having egg on
their faces then maybe they'll learn something. Most HCPs just don't know
and really are willing to learn. Others have an emotional/personal problem
with BF and nothing we say or do will ever change them. (These are the ones
I want to sue - money talks LOUD).

I also warn moms when they are going to see the ob or ped what s/he will
probably say, why and why not! Find if she's not shocked by their bad
advice she doesn't take it. Forewarned is forearmed! Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
