I live in Texas too - a large part the legal system is FULL of people who
fit that stereotype - at least in my experience where I have had dealings
with them in my divorce case. I wasn't referring to Texans in general - but
I know how things tend to go in the court systems here.

"good ol' boy legal system"?  I do not think labels and sweeping statements
about an entire segment of the population are helpful.

I'm not a native Texan.  When I moved here I expected the stereotype, what
I found was some of the most friendly, helpful, accepting, non-judgmental
people I've ever met.  Most Texans don't care what you do and won't bother
you as long as you are not stepping on other people's toes.
