How about her pumping on one side while her child breastfeeds from the other?

Sounds like the overwhelming stress she must feel due to her reason for
pumping (to give her milk to her husband due to brain tumor) could have an
effect on her letdown. My heart goes out to her in her tragic situation and
how wonderful she is to consider giving her husband such a gift of self,
literally. I personally don't have references to offer but do know I've
heard of human milk being used for adults' illnesses and it makes alot of
sense to me. I have a friend whose child will be undergoing a kidney
transplant next week due to kidney damage suffered a few years ago due to E
Coli infection that almost killed her. Back then I suggested this mom give
human milk when child was not eating (and I also thought it could help fight
the E Coli) but even though she was willing to relactate docs thought it
unheard of and did not encourage it, so nothing was done..I recently thought
would human milk help to decrease organ rejection?...
Best of luck to your friend and give her a big hug from a stranger who wishes
her well
(and has a big lump in her throat just thinking of what she must be going
through)

Warmly,
