Hi,
I don't have any studies to quote on this particualr subject, just some
personal experience. Two of my three children just had a similar
stomach flu about a month ago, as well as my sister-in-law. They were
all sick with diarrhea and vomiting for 5 t- 15 days. My toddler has
weaned (sadly), but through the whole episode I wished she were still
nursing. Breastmilk is so digestible that even if baby (or toddler) is
vomiting with diarrhea, some nutrition gets through to nourish her. I
have experience with nursing through many illnesses, and I know many
Moms with similar experiences. Though the illness usually persisted,
nursing was comforting, and probably beneficial nutritionally and
immunologically.
Sincerely,
