Thanks, Diane for the gentle reminder that human milk is the normal feeding
for human infants. In the coming years when antibiotics are less effective,
human milk may begin to be valued for its lifegiving qualities irrespective
of the location of the mother/baby dyad. It is difficult to figure out all
the subtle ways that we make comparative statements even when we don't try.

I just got home from a conference on Making BF a Public Health Issue. Heard
that China plans to ban over the counter sales of ABM in 5/96. Also heard
that N. Zealand is considering banning soy formula. Does anyone have the
citation for the N. Zealand Medical Journal for an article by Cliff Ervine
that talks about this?

As I sift through my notes, I will share more citations.

Congratualtions to all the new IBCLCs out there. I still don't know who
passed, AOL is sending me digests just whenever the urge hits them - I even
got disconnected from the service last night. Geesh! Maybe I'll try the
competition!

Queen Eccentric (I wore my "Queen of Everything" shirt today in honor of our
Lactnet gathering - I decided that in my "wise years" that its OK to LOOK
eccentric!)
