HI GUYS!
I look forward every evening to reading my messages. I guess I'm
really not alone in my pursuit of Breast is Best. Good things to share
today with a question that I would like an honest answer to.
    1. Today while getting a weekly fix on my soaps I notice that on the
"Bold and the Beautiful" Taylor (new mom in real life) was BREASTFEEDING!
It couldn't be mistaken for just holding either. The dialogue was about
BREASTFEEDING! I do wonder where she got the sexy black breastfeeding bra
though. I never saw one when I was feeding my children.
    2. Our Nursing Administrator is trying to back out of paying for the
IBCLCE for me. My nurse manager however is fighting it and is giving up
some money saved for her cont. education. She is serious. She asked me
for a list of recommended books and journals. You guessed it, I gave her
a huge list, we got them in last week.
    3. I have been working with breastfeeding moms since 1993 and have
been a Breastfeeding Educator since the end of 1994. I am the one that
staff turns to for breastfeeding information. Unfortunately, I lack
confidence. If I don't know, I tell them I don't and then get the
information. I frequently doubt myself and refer patients to the LC 60
miles away. My question is...... I have the hours to take the test. I
have the money. Would it be wise for me to try and cram for this test. I
have lots of free time d/t cutting back to PRN recently (to stay at home
and breastfeed my perfect son). I have the resources to read now. I don't
want to rush this. I want things to go smoothly. I hate test anxiety.

Thanks for listening. Becoming an IBCLC was a long term goal I listed on
my employment application years ago.

Freezing in Oklahoma without the benifits of snow to ski on,
