It could be that someone is sending mail that is formatted to display as
a web page or that a message that was replied to or part of a message
that was pasted in contained such formatting.  There isn't really much
you can do on your end other than check to see if your email client can
display the formatted message.

It's a good reminder to check to make sure that one's own email client
is set to send only Plain Text messages.
