Dear friends,

I was asked a question: does nursing a 7.5 month old baby by mother with
chronic Hep C is safe? Baby is recently tested and it is appeared that
little one is also infected with hep C (virus is found, not only
antibodies). I know that hep C is not a contraindication for breastfeeding
(Lawrence and Riordan and Auerbach) and will share this information with
mother, but I have a question: can nursing in this situation increase viral
load in baby? Does it is safe? I was unable to find an answer in archives

Sincerely yours,
Victoria Nesterova,
