I have known doctors who told women NOT to breastfeed because of the possible
risk of HIV contamination. This was based on the famous case of Ellen (?)
Glaser (married to actor) who contracted HIV from blood transfusion post
delivery & then passed it to baby during breastfeeding. We rarely see anyone
get a blood transfusion in OB these days. They are very conservative with it.
