I recently had a rare day off during the week and watched the Baby Story on
TLC (cable). The storyline was about an infertile couple who hired a
surrogate. I was absolutely flabbergasted when during the telling of the
story the "adoptive" mom was shown at her freezer talking about all the
milk she had already pumped for her yet-to-be born baby. She actually
TALKED about breastfeeding and how happy she was to be able to feed her
baby, even tho she couldn't be pregnant and give birth to her baby. At the
baby's birth I commented out loud "She should be putting that baby to her
breast" and wonder of wonders, after the commercial break, there was the
new "adoptive" mom nursing her baby! And they actually showed the baby
nursing close up! The surrogate parents and the new dad were all proudly
looking on. Will wonders never cease?!
